We know that Samsung is planning to make displays with a hole in the display instead of a notch. The Infinity O display simply has a hole in the corner for the camera with screen around it.
Huawei may be doing the same, as a leaked invitation shows an outline of a device with a dot of light right where we’d expect to see a camera. The leak claims the device will be released in December, potentially earlier than the Infinity O display-wielding Samsung Galaxy A8s.
Is this a better implementation of the notch many of us have come to hate? Is the display real estate around the hole wasted? Would it be better against the edge of the display like current implementations, at least in a small form factor? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
Huawei will release the world’s first hole-screen mobile phone before the Samsung Galaxy A8s, which will be released in December, but the A8s may also be released in December, so who will start, it will wait and see.
