Square Enix recently revealed that the classic PS1-era RPG SaGa Frontier is coming to a plethora of platforms as a remaster in the summer of 2021. Nest Wifi routers can now prioritize video conferencing as well as gaming traffic

No more "Everybody stop streaming their Netflix shows, mama's got a Zoom meeting!"

Google's routers are already packed with intelligent features like network stats, manual device prioritization, Wi-Fi pause options, or device grouping — not to mention the integrated smart speaker in the Nest Wifi. To further improve on these options, Google has decided to add the ability to automatically prioritize certain traffic via the Home app, such as video conferencing or gaming.

The ability is starting to roll out as part of the Q4 firmware update to the Google Wifi and the Nest Wifi (v13099.118.19), and you'll need to be on version 2.31 of the Home app.

Spotify finally lets you edit playlist details and artworks on Android

The options are starting to pop up on a few phones

When Spotify isn't busy adding things no one asked for, such as Instagram-like stories or exclusive podcasts, the company sometimes improves existing features. It looks like revamped playlist editing for Android is up next. A few people on the Spotify subreddit report that they can now tweak their playlists' cover arts and subtitles on top of being able to change the title and song order.

This time, the company claims the action "promotes content that advocates hate or violence or promotes discrimination," apparently because someone in Germany stringed together a clearly custom command that made the Assistant spout off some hate speech.

YouTube gamer TmarTn discovered stories when he looked for Christmas music. When he opened the yearly Christmas Hits playlist curated by the streaming service, he noticed a new hint on the Spotify profile picture, informing him that he could "tap to see the story," consisting of celebrities sharing their favorite Christmas songs.

Spotify is experiencing an outage

Many people can only access their downloaded songs right now

Spotify is currently down for many around the world, with lots of people unable to stream music. The company has acknowledged on Twitter that there are some problems, and a look at Downdetector confirms that a lot of subscribers have issues with music streaming right now.

Netflix isn't playing nicely with Google TV for some reason

Some very lucky Android TV owners can now stream YouTube in 8K

In other news, can someone lend me an 8K TV?

There are 8K Android TVs out there and a decent selection of 8K content on YouTube. But up until recently, the streaming cap on the YouTube app for Android TV was 4K. Not anymore, though.

Version 2.12.08 now brings limited 8K support to Android TVs on version 10 and above. That feature we know for sure.

The country's campaign against China-made apps rages on

India began banning mobile applications and services based in China earlier this year, following a series of border tensions. The bans have taken place under the guise of national security, though the government rarely states how the violating apps are placing India or its citizens in danger. There have been several additional bans, and now the latest order includes AliExpress and other services.

Stadia exec says 400 games are in development for the platform

That's quite a few more than its current catalogue of about 150 titles

Stadia wasn't off to a great start and still has trouble positioning itself as a viable alternative to the just-launched PlayStation 5 and the new Xbox Series, but Google is finally starting to gain some traction with promotions and hype. Zoom was already a popular videoconferencing tool before the COVID-19 pandemic hit. How to reliably sideload the latest Google apps on Android 11

Try this if you get the dreaded verification failure error

Some Google apps are failing to install on Android 11 when you try to sideload the latest versions from a trustworthy source like our own sister site APK Mirror. Ever since Google released the new Android OS, an INSTALL_FAILED_VERIFICATION_FAILURE error keeps popping up for some people who want to install the most recent version of the Google Camera or the Google Recorder.

While we've known that the sequel DEEMO II would be coming to Android since May (2020), it would appear the Rayark has also remastered the original title to create DEEMO Reborn, which has been available on Steam since September (2020). This remaster replaces the original's 2D graphics with new 3D designs in order to create a much more immersive title, and as of today, this remaster has landed on the Play Store for pre-registration.

Samsung TV Plus was originally developed as a feature for the company's line of smart TVs, giving buyers something to watch before they plugged in a cable box or logged into Netflix. Samsung started rolling out the service to a handful of Galaxy phones earlier this year, and now the app is coming to even more devices.

Flipboard finally has a dark theme and it's pitch black (APK Download)

Flipboard was one of the first AI-supported news aggregators, and it's still the first choice for many people. The company only recently tried to insert itself into the conversation by launching a paid video service with partners like Variety, Bloomberg, and The Wall Street Journal, and now it's back with something many people have actually been asking for: A dark mode.

The new theme comes as part of Flipboard version 4.2.59 and automatically respects your system-wide preference, but you can manually enable or disable dark mode in the app settings, accessible through the rightmost profile tab in the bottom bar.
