Samsung Galaxy Note 9 receiving update with camera fixes and September security patch

The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is a pretty new device, but Samsung is trying to keep it updated (for now). The Note 9 (model number SM-N960F/DS) is now receiving a new update with the September security patch and a few fixes for the camera. Here’s a full changelog:

  • Security patch level: September 1, 2018
  • Camera picture quality has been improved
  • Brightness of faces in backlit conditions has been improved
  • Day/Night HDR control accuracy has been improved
  • Low light brightness and SNR (signal noise reduction) has been improved

We’re always glad to see manufacturers improve their devices after launch beyond new versions of Android. This update should improve camera performance a bit despite it’s already excellent performance and 103 DxOMark score.

Head to Settings > About and check for updates to start downloading it. It’s 302MB so watch your mobile data if it’s limited! Hopefully it will start rolling out to all models of the Note 9 soon.
