Google Store can now fix your Pixel if you’re willing to wait

Let’s face it: shipping any device out to be repaired sucks. You’re left without a laptop, smartphone, or anything you need fixed. This is one of the allures of Apple products: you have a physical store to visit and have your device fixed.

If you break your Pixel device, you can always visit any phone repair shop to get it fixed on the spot. However, if you’re willing to wait a bit, the Google Store can now fix devices when shipped to them.

You can now head to the Repair Center section of the Google Store and start a repair order. You enter your IMEI and reason for sending it in. Then you have one of two options: ship the device back yourself immediately, or wait for 2-3 business days for a prepaid package to arrive that you can use to send the device in.

The whole process will take 7-10 business days.  If you can wait this long, having Google fix your device instead of a third-party is a good option (especially if they use genuine parts). Make sure you back up your device and use insurance if you ship it yourself. Hit the source link for the Google FAQ for this new service!
