Samsung will unveil the Galaxy Note 9 at an Unpacked event on August 9

The rumors turned out to be right yet again, as Samsung has just announced a brand new Unpacked event for early August.

On Wednesday, Samsung officially sent out event invitations for their newest Unpacked extravaganza. This time around, the event will be hosted on Thursday, August 9, definitively earlier than it hosted last year’s event. The new teaser is pretty straightforward, with a purple background and a very, very yellow object in the foreground, with what appears to be a power button taking up most of the focal point. Or that may be the Bixby button.

Otherwise, the main text confirms we’ll be seeing a new Samsung Galaxy device, but doesn’t give us any other details than that. Samsung announced the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ earlier this year, so it’s likely that the company will be unveiling the Galaxy Note 9 on August 9. It is also possible we’ll be seeing the Galaxy Tab S4 tablet on the same date.

The event will be taking place in New York City. Samsung does say that it will be hosting the event live on it’s official website, though, so we can all expect a live stream for whatever they plan on announcing.
