Expectations are that Google will announce its new flagship smartphones in October, and the rumor mill has done its best to convince us that the Pixel 3 XL will adopt a notch design. That was supported when what may be the Pixel 3 XL was caught on camera. Now new renders from @OnLeaks and MySmartPrice have surfaced to pile on.
The renders are a clear look at what we should probably expect to see in an official capacity later this year with the Pixel 3 XL and Pixel 3. That includes a deep notch on the Pixel 3 XL which is playing host to a pair of front-facing cameras. That leans into the rumors that Google is planning its own major push into a facial recognition feature.
There is a sizable chin on the bottom of the Pixel 3 XL and a forward-facing speaker for good measure. The renders basically confirm what we’ve heard in the past in other regards, including the fact that both the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL will have glass backs, single rear camera designs, and the fact that bezels will be sticking around for another year with the smaller Pixel 3.
However, there is an important difference this time around. Previous rumors had suggested that Google was only including a pair of front-facing cameras with the larger Pixel 3 XL, but these renders suggest that the feature will be present with the Pixel 3 as well.
Otherwise, the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL will host a USB Type-C port on the bottom of the phone for charging and will lack 3.5mm headphone jack again this year.
So, what do you think of the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL in their unofficial capacity? Are you already planning on upgrading to either handset?
