One of Instagram’s most popular feature is Stories which recently hit the 250 million user milestone. Since it was first introduced back in August 2016, Instagram made it one of its centerpieces and its user base loved it.
Well, this week Instagram debuted a new way to share Stories. The new option is available in the app’s latest 11.0 version for Android. What’s the novelty? From now on users will be able to share a Story (theirs or someone else’s) in Direct messages. These messages will self-destruct a la Snapchat in 24 hours.
In order to share a Story with a friend, users have to tap the “direct” icon located in the bottom right corner of a Story. Then all they need to do is select a friend or a group and press “send” to share.
If you’re one of those people who likes to keep things a bit more private, you should know you can turn off the option in the Stories settings. So others won’t be able to share your Stories.
The update for Android and iOS users alike is currently rolling out, but it might take a few weeks before it reaches everyone across the globe.
