It’s been just over a week since it was reported that Samsung‘s Galaxy S8 on Verizon Wireless didn’t support the ability to shop for products on Amazon via Bixby Vision. At the time, Verizon representatives said they were “working with Amazon” to get the feature working on the flagship smartphone, but there wasn’t a timetable to expect its arrival. Well, the big day has finally arrived.
Verizon has confirmed that the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ are getting updated to support Bixby Vision with Amazon shopping, so owners can take pictures, use Bixby, and then find that thing on Amazon to buy it for themselves. To get the update, just touch the Bixby Vision button within the camera app, and it should trigger the update through the Galaxy Apps store.
The update doesn’t fix the missing Bixby Voice functionality, but it does bring the Galaxy S8 on Verizon’s network up to par with the smartphones on other carriers, so that’s good news for Big Red customers.
So, who is super excited out there for Bixby Vision?
