It appears that Sony is working on a new smartphone – one to match the looks of the Samsung Galaxy S8 and LG G6.
According to a new leak, Sony’s upcoming Xperia X Ultra will come with a tall and compact body and a display with 21:9 aspect ratio. Note the Galaxy S8 has an 18:5:9 aspect ratio, while the LG G6 is 18:9, so the new Sony phone should be even taller than the two models.
As for specs, the phone could make a debut with a huge 6.45-inch display with a Snapdragon 660 CPU under the hood and 4GB of RAM. When it comes to internal storage, the handset should bring up to 64GB of storage to the table.
Sony will also bundle a 19-megapixel chief camera plus a 13-megapixel secondary unit. It was also revealed the phone will feature Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box and 3,050 mAh battery to keep things rolling onboard. It’s quite possible the device will enjoy IP68 rating, as well.
As for availability, we don’t know when Sony plans to unveil the Xperia X Ultra, but the phone is shaping out to be quite the mid-ranger. We’ll keep you posted with developments on the matter.
