Honor 6X Android Nougat update to start rolling out this month with EMUI 5.0 in tow

Back in March, Honor announced that it was looking for Honor 6X owners to test out the phone’s Android 7.0 Nougat update. Now it looks like the update is ready for public consumption.

Honor said today that it’s now pushing Android Nougat to the Honor 6X, complete with an upgrade to EMUI 5.0. The move to Android 7.0 brings with it new features like multi-window support and quick replies from your notifications, and Honor is making some big changes to EMUI with the 5.0 update.

The update to EMUI 5.0 will bring with it a new, simpler user interface that Honor says will have a blue and white color scheme. EMUI 5.0 should also offer smoother performance, better security, an app drawer, an updated task manager, and more improvements.

The Honor 6X’s Android Nougat update is expected to continue to roll out to users through late May, so don’t fret if you don’t have it quite yet. Do keep an eye out for it, though, because this update should be a biggie for the Honor 6X.
