Cricket Wireless is rolling out a new feature that will improve voice call quality for those with the supported devices.
Today, Cricket announced that it is activating HD Voice for a select number of Android-based phones on its network. HD Voice uses Voice over LTE (VoLTE) to improve the overall quality of the voice call. It also gives users the ability to browse the web and talk over their LTE connection at the same time.
As far as device selection goes, the prepaid network offers HD Voice on these handsets:
- Alcatel Idol 4
- LG Escape 3
- Samsung Galaxy Sol 2
- ZTE Grand X 4
To use the new feature, you’ll need to make sure that your device is on the latest version of its software. Both you and the person you’re talking to will need to be using one of the four aforementioned handsets to actually hear the difference with HD Voice.
An upgrade that will improve voice quality for a select number, but still a worthwhile update to the prepaid carrier.
