TCL Communication officially revealed the BlackBerry-branded KEYone Android smartphone earlier this year, but launch details on the device have been scarce.
Early expectations were that the device would arrive in April, but it was recently revealed by BlackBerry CEO John Chen that the handset would start shipping sometime in May. With no exact dates to circle on the calendar just yet, people who are eagerly anticipating the handset’s arrival are probably hoping for some good news soon.
Steve Cistulli, President and CEO of TCL Communication, has taken to Twitter to tease that news is right around the corner. He confirmed that “some more KEY news coming your way next week… Stay tuned!” without getting into any further details. Unfortunately, just what will be covered remains a mystery.
The easy guess is launch details, like what date to expect the phone to hit store shelves.
As for the specs of the KEYone, we know it will run Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box and feature a 4.5-inch 1080p HD display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor, 3GB of RAM, and a 12-megapixel camera on the back with a Sony IMX378 sensor. We also know it will cost $549 whenever it launches.
Do you plan on picking up the BlackBerry KEYone when you can?
