Customers who were excited about the BlackBerry KeyONE shipping out in April, will be disappointed to know that the phone has been delayed.
BlackBerry’s CEO John Chen made the announcement during the company’s fiscal Q4 2017 earnings call, saying that we should expect to see the KeyONE to land sometime in May. The phone was unveiled by BlackBerry’s hardware partner, TCL at MWC 2017 in Barcelona in late February.
The phone arrives with a 4.5-inch display with 1080 x 1620 resolution plus 433 ppi and brings a full QWERTY keyboard to the table. The KeyONE bundles a Snapdragon 625 processor that works in concert with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage (expandable via microSD card slot up to 256GB).
In the photo department, the new BlackBerry KeyONE boasts a 12MP main camera with f/2.0, phase detection autofocus, dual-LED flash and an 8MP selfie snapper with f/2.2 aperture. On top of that, the device has a fingerprint scanner up in front and a pretty decent 3,505 mAh battery to sustain operations onboard.
The BlackBerry KeyONE ships out with Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box, the latest Android version available at this point.
No information related Canadian pricing and availability is available at this point in time. Still don’t expect to see the BlackBerry KeyONE before May.
