Valentine’s Day is coming and BlackBerry wants to help you celebrate love. So the former device maker turned software giant is slashing off the retail prices of two of its best Android handsets.
Until February 14 at 11:59pm EST, customers can purchase the DTEK50 for $344 CAD instead of $429 CAD and the DTEK60 for $597 CAD instead of $650 CAD.
Now in case you don’t remember, the DTEK50 comes with a 5.2-inch display featuring 1920 x 1080 resolution and Snapdragon 617 working hand in hand with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage (microSD card slot available for memory expansion up to 2TB).
The phone also takes advantage of a 13MP main camera plus 8MP selfie snapper. It relies on a non-removable 2,610 mAh battery and runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box.
As for the newer and more advanced, DTEK60 – the device boasts a 5.5-inch screen with 2560 x 1440 resolution plus a Snapdragon 820 processor under the hood, 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage (expandable via microSD card slot up to 256GB).
The DTEK60 enjoys the services of a main 21MP camera sensor with phase detection autofocus and dual-tone LED plus an 8MP front facing camera. It relies on 3,000 mAh battery and also comes with Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box.
Given BlackBerry’s track record with updates, we don’t expect either of these phones to get Nougat treatment any time soon. But if you don’t mind buying a Marshmallow device in 2017, the DTEK50 and DTEK60 are waiting for you.
