Huawei reveals which devices will be upgraded to Android 7.0 Nougat

As Sony begins its own rollout of Android 7.0, Huawei is confirming which of its own handsets will be upgraded to Nougat.

Huawei has revealed its list of handsets that will be upgraded to its proprietary EMUI 5.0, which is based on Android 7.0 and first saw the light of day with the Huawei Mate 9. The rollout for Android 7.0 Nougat will begin in the first quarter of 2017.

Here are the devices that are eligible for an EMUI 5.0 update beginning next year:

  • Huawei Mate 8
  • Huawei P9
  • Huawei P9 Plus
  • Huawei P9 lite
  • Huawei Nova
  • Huawei Nova Plus

Huawei also confirmed that beta tests will be rolled out ahead of the public launch for each of the eligible devices.
