Sony Xperia E5 now official with a 5-inch display, 13MP camera, and more

Sony’s already confirmed that its Xperia X series of devices are headed to the United States, and now the company has another device to announce.

Sony has officially introduced the Xperia E5, a mid-range smartphone with a 5-inch 1280×720 display. There’s a 13-megapixel camera on the back, which Sony says features software that will automatically adjust based on whatever it is you’re taking a picture of thanks to Auto Scene Recognition. On the front, there’s a 5-megapixel shooter.

The Xperia E5 also features a MediaTek MTK6735 quad-core processor, 1.5GB of RAM, an FM radio, support for NFC, 16GB of built-in storage, and a microSD card slot that supports cards up to 200GB. It features Android 6.0 out of the box, too, and the battery measures in at 2700mAh. Sony says the Xperia E5 will last two days on a single charge.

Unfortunately, Sony doesn’t have any information on the cost of the Xperia E5 or when it will become available.
