LG G Watch reportedly to be priced at €199, coming this summer

Earlier this month a report surfaced claiming that the LG G Watch will make its way to the United Kingdom no later than July with a price of £180. Now French Site Les Numeriques claims that LG France has confirmed that the device will arrive sometime in “summer” and will cost €199.

While this information supposedly comes from LG France, we imagine that the price point will pretty much be universal throughout most of Europe. Interestingly enough, however, €199 is actually less than the UK’s asking price — which would come to about €218.67. For now we’d take all the pricing details with a grain of salt, though if these reports are true, we’d imagine that the North American cost for the G Watch will be well under $250.

As for what the LG G Watch brings to the table? While we don’t know a lot of specifics just yet, the watch packs a 280 x 280 pixel display and is rumored to offer 512MB RAM with 4GB internal storage. At the device’s heart is the Android Wear platform, which essentially brings a Google Now experience right to our wrists.

Over the last year, we’ve seen several manufacturers push the idea of wearable devices with varying degrees of success. Right now it remains unseen whether Android Wear has what it takes to truly take wearables mainstream, though we like what we see so far.
