HTC announces mid-range U12 Life

HTC‘s “Life” series of devices are mid-range versions of their flagship. The company has announced the new U12 Life, which is a cheaper U12 Plus.

The device features a 6-inch 18:9 1080p display, a Snapdragon 636 processor, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage (or 6GB and 128GB if you upgrade), dual 16MP/5MP rear cameras, a front facing 13MP camera with LED flash, and a 3,600mAh battery.

Not many sacrifices have been made with this device. You still get NFC, a USB Type-C port, and even a headphone jack, something not available at all on the flagship HTC U12 Plus. Unfortunately, you do lose out on Edge Sense squeezing technology, and surprisingly Qualcomm Quick Charge capability.

The device will launch with the outdated Android Oreo with HTC Sense UI on top. The rear will be glass with a two-tone texture and will come in Twilight Purple and Moonlight Blue (we’re sad to see the lack of the Flame Red color). A launch date is not available but it will launch in Europe for £299 or 349 Euros.
