BlackBerry KEY2 LE now official with Snapdragon 636 and 4GB of RAM

Back in June, BlackBerry and TCL officially announced the new KEY2, bringing another Android-based handset with a full physical keyboard underneath a touchscreen display. That handset was priced at $649 when it arrived, and now it looks like BlackBerry is ready to cut back on some specs to drop the price tag in a new model called the BlackBerry KEY2 LE. This handset offers the same design as the original, including the physical keyboard, but swaps some lower specs to help reduce the price.

That starts with the processor, with the KEY2 LE featuring a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636. The handset has 4GB of RAM and there will be two storage options: 32GB and 64GB. There are a pair of cameras on the back, the primary being a 13MP sensor and the secondary being a 5MP shooter. There is a front-facing 8MP camera, too, and the battery in the KEY2 LE measures in at 3000mAh.

The BlackBerry KEY2 LE will be available in Atomic (red), Champagne (gold), and Slate (black) color options when it goes on sale in September. The 32GB variant will retail for $399, while the 64GB option will cost $449.
