We are only a couple of days away from LG officially announcing its newest flagship smartphone, the G7 ThinQ. But the company isn’t quite done teasing some of the more noteworthy features of the handset.
Over the weekend, the Life’s Good crew sent out a press release teasing one of the features that the company hopes will make the G7 ThinQ stand out against the competition. It’s called a “Boombox Speaker”, and LG says it will make the smartphone up to ten times louder then the competition. LG also says the Boombox Speaker will “increase the base sound level by more than 6dB with twice the amount of bass”.
The BoomBox Speaker will amplify the bass even more when you set the G7 ThinQ down on a solid surface. The company was able to add this feature thanks to a special resonance chamber design. As you can see from the attached image, LG seems to be teasing that the feature will also be taking advantage of the entire body of the phone in some way or another, but obviously it’s keeping the finer details of the process a secret for now.
If that isn’t enough, the G7 ThinQ is going to keep around the Hi-Fi Quad DAC, which will improve the overall sound quality while listening to music via connected headphones. And LG is even tossing in support for DTS:X, which is a first for smartphones. This means G7 ThinQ owners will be able to experience 3D 7.1 surround sound.
So, what do you make of the G7 ThinQ so far? Is this handset on your radar at all?
