If you’ve been in the market for a new Android tablet, the market has been pretty slim pickings lately. Don’t fret, though, because Huawei is coming to the rescue with three new slates.
Huawei today introduced three Android 8.0 Oreo tablets in its MediaPad M5 lineup. While their spec lists are all largely the same, there are some differences between each model to be aware of.
Here’s what each new MediaPad M5 model looks like:
MediaPad M5 8
The smallest tablet of the new MediaPad M5 family features an 8.4-inch 2560×1600 display, 13MP rear and 8MP front cameras, and a front fingerprint reader. There’s a Kirin 960 processor inside the tablet’s curved metal shell as well as 4GB of RAM, 32/64GB of storage, and a 5,100mAh battery.
Also of note is that the MediaPad M5 8 comes with dual speakers to improving your entertainment experience as well as an Eye Comfort Mode to reduce blue light.
MediaPad M5 10
This tablet features a larger 10.8-inch 2560×1600 screen, four speakers, and a bigger 7,500mAh battery. Most of its other features are similar to the 8.4-inch MediaPad M5, including its 13MP rear and 8MP front cameras, 4GB of RAM, and 32/64GB of storage.
MediaPad M5 10 Pro
Rounding out this tablet trio is the MediaPad M5 10 Pro, which features mostly the same specs as the non-Pro MediaPad M5 10. The two notable differences are that the Pro model is only available with 64GB of storage and that it comes with a stylus called the Huawei M-Pen that has 4096 layers of sensitivity, tilt and shade effects in certain apps, and buttons that can be used as shortcuts for functions like taking screenshots.
All three of Huawei’s MediaPad M5 tablets will launch in spring 2018 in China, Europe, North America, Asia Pacific, and the Middle East. Here’s what their pricing will look like:
