HMD Global went hard at MWC 2018 today, showing off a total of five devices.
The first is the Nokia 8 Sirocco, which you can see at the top of this post. This high-end Android One phone comes with Oreo in tow as well as a 5.5-inch Quad HD pOLED screen, a Snapdragon 835 processor, and a ZEISS-branded dual rear camera setup with a 12MP wide angle lens and 13MP telephoto lens.
Also included with the Nokia 8 Sirocco is a 5MP front-facing camera, 6GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, a rear fingerprint reader, and a 3,260mAh battery that you can recharge using USB-C or Qi wireless charging. Two other details worth noting are that the Nokia 8 Sirocco’s body is more than 95 percent glass and that it’s got a steel frame.
Expect to see the Nokia 8 Sirocco in early April for €749 ($920 USD).
Next up is the Nokia 7 Plus. This is also an Android One device and it’s packing ZEISS-branded dual rear cameras that includes one 12MP sensor with f/1.75 aperture and one 13MP sensor with f/2.6 aperture. There’s a ZEISS-branded 16MP front-facing camera, too, with a focus on low-light performance.
The Nokia 7 Plus’s spec list also includes features like a 6-inch 2160×1080 display with 18:9 aspect ratio, Snapdragon 660 processor, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, a microSD card slot, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB-C port. There’s a 3,800mAh battery powering this whole package, and the phone will launch in early April for €399 ($490 USD).
HMD also showed the new Nokia 6 today. This model originally made its debut in China last month with a 5.5-inch 1920×1080 display, octa-core Snapdragon 630, 16MP rear camera, and 8MP front camera. There are two versions, one with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage and one with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, but both have a microSD card slot.
Rounding out the Nokia 6′s feature set is a 3.5mm headphone jack, fingerprint reader, 3,000mAh battery, USB-C port, and Android Oreo. This Android One phone will be available in early April with 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, and a €279 ($342 USD) price tag. The 4GB/64GB model will launch later on.
Moving on down the line, we’ve got the Nokia 1, which is HMD’s first Android Oreo (Go edition) device. This entry-level phone has a 4.5-inch FWVGA screen, 1.1GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6737M processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of storage, a microSD card slot, and 5MP rear and 2MP front cameras.
Other notable features of the Nokia 1 include dual SIM slots, a 3.5mm headphone jack, IP52 water resistance, a microUSB port, a removable 2,150mAh battery, and swappable Xpress-on covers.
The Nokia 1 will go on sale in early April for $85 and its swappable Xpress-on covers will sell for $7.99 each.
Rounding out the new devices shown by HMD today is the Nokia 8110. This is a refresh of a classic Nokia feature phone with a curved slider design. It runs a Smart Feature OS powered by KaiOS and includes an app store with apps like Google Assistant, Google Search, Google Maps, Facebook, Twitter, Outlook, and Gmail. It also supports 4G and Voice over LTE and comes with a revamped version of Snake.
The hardware specs of the Nokia 8110 include a 2.45-inch QVGA display, 1.1GHz dual-core Qualcomm 205 processor, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of storage, a 2MP camera, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. There’s a removable 1,500mAh battery powering this phone, and you recharge that battery using microUSB.
The Nokia 8110 will go on sale in May for €79 ($97 USD).
