Google Flights will use machine learning to predict flight delays

Google Flights has been around for quite some time, and like a lot of services from Google, new features keep getting added to improve the experience.

Now Google has unveiled a new effort to help get a better grasp on flight delays. First and foremost, Google Flights will use historical flight data and machine learning to try and predict delays. For Google to flag an expected delayed flight, it has to be 80 percent sure of that delay.

Google Flights will also show the reasons why flights are delayed.

In addition, Google Flights is going to start showing more information related to fees. So if you’re going to buy a ticket, the service will start showing you if additional services and features like overhead baggage space, baggage fees, or the ability to select your seat will cost more, or if it’s included in the advertised ticket price.

What do you think of Google Flights’ new features?
