OnePlus releases data migration app called OnePlus Switch

Switching phones isn’t particularly tough these days, but it can get annoying. Google‘s own backup system is great but it’s limited. You can’t transfer text messages, call logs, photos (although you can access them in the cloud with Google Photos), and more.

Many of the phone makers have their own app for a more complete data transfer and OnePlus is now joining the club. The company has announced an app called OnePlus Switch which will transfer contacts, messages, call logs, photos, videos, audio and applications (without their corresponding data) between Android devices. All you have to do is install the app on both the old and the new device and scan a QR code.

The app will be updated in the future to include application data, WiFi history, and more. There will also be added support for iOS and Android versions older than 6.0. But for now it’s already more complete than Google’s backup if you need that extra data. Head to the Play Store to check it out!
