Samsung Galaxy S9, Galaxy S9+ pass through the FCC

Samsung is going to follow up the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ with proper successors in 2018, but to get there the company has to work with the necessary regulatory bodies to approve those handsets for public launch.

Our first hint that the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ are essentially right around the corner comes courtesy of the FCC in the United States. Both handsets passed through the FCC’s approval gauntlet and were certified on December 27. The paperwork reveals that the Galaxy S9′s model number is SM-G960F and the Galaxy S9+’s model number is SM-965F.

Unfortunately, the FCC’s documentation doesn’t reveal anything else about the handset. We recently heard that Samsung may show off its upcoming flagship smartphones at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in January, so we may not have long to wait to learn some key details about the handsets.

Are you looking forward to the launch of the Galaxy S9?
