If you are in South Korea and have an LG V30, there is a software update rolling out that you will want to get on your handset as soon as possible.
LG has confirmed that the V30 in South Korea is now receiving the Android 8.0 Oreo update. The software was available in a beta release back in November, so the Life’s Good crew has a pretty quick turnaround on the public launch. As far as what’s new, LG says there are the expected performance improvements as well as general improvements to the battery and overall speed of the handset.
It also supports picture-in-picture mode, even more screen configurations, and notification dots on app icons. LG says there are other “convenience” features being added to the mix, but it doesn’t go into any detail on what that means.
There is no word on when the U.S.-based LG V30 will get the Android 8.0 Oreo update at this point, but hopefully with the South Korean version getting the update, it means that the updates for the other international and unlocked variants are right around the corner.
