It has been just over a month since Essential launched a beta program for Android 8.0 Oreo which allowed Essential Phone owners to try out the pre-release software ahead of Oreo’s public launch.
Now Essential has officially announced the rollout of the second beta of Android 8.0 Oreo for the Essential Phone. This will bring the build number up to OPM1.170911.213 and will bring new features to the mix, including picture-in-picture support, smart text selection, and more. It also includes bug fixes for good measure.

The update is rolling out now, and for folks who have the first Android 8.0 Oreo beta on their Essential Phone, it can be installed as an over-the-air (OTA) update.
