With a few months to go before their official announcement, Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL leaks have intensified.
This week, the smaller Pixel 2 was spotted making a visit to the FCC and revealed quite a lot in the process. That’s because the filing which was first discovered by the folks of 9to5Google also includes screenshots of the phone’s settings menu.
So we can tell you the device will come with Android 8.0.1 O out of the box (the current Android O Developer Preview 4 is at 8.0.0) and with 64GB of internal storage. The current base Pixel offers only 32GB of storage.
Most importantly, the FCC filing confirms a rumour we heard before: this year’s Pixels are going to come with a pressure-sensitive frame akin to the Edge Sense on the HTC U11. But Google will be calling it Active Edge instead.
Active Edge will allow users to trigger certain actions by squeezing the Pixel 2. For example, you’ll be able to call upon the Google Assistant.
We expect the Pixel 2 XL will soon make an appearance with the FCC as well, probably bringing with itself a confirmation that it is manufactured by LG.
Are you excited to see the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL arrive? We know we are!
