After a long wait, Bixby Voice finally launched in the US not so long ago. But what about users of the Galaxy S8 or Galaxy S8+ living in Canada? Will they be able to take advantage of the full power of Samsung’s voice-powered personal assistant?
The answer is yes. According to MobileSyrup who contacted Samsung Canada, Bixby Voice will be launched in Canada “soon”. So by the end of the year, we hope the virtual assistant will be ready to help in Canada too.
Why is not our prediction more optimistic? Well because Samsung delayed the US release with over 3 months. Integrating English proved too complicated of a task for Bixby to master in time for the Galaxy S8’s US launch in April.
According to reports the US and Korean teams working on developing English Bixby had a hard time communicating, which led to endless delays. But hopefully, not many changes have to be done in order for English Bixby to function well in Canada.
Other English speaking countries such as the UK or Australia are yet to see Bixby Voice arrive and we have no definitive timeline for when the feature will become available.
