The Samsung Galaxy S8 is one of the few devices that feature wireless charging built-in, which is a great and very convenient feature even with a reversible USB Type-C plug becoming the standard. However, the S8 seems to have some strange problems with it.
Many users are reporting that their various Qi wireless charging pads either don’t do fast charging or don’t work at all. The odd part is that the same model of wireless charging pad may work for one person but not another. This even applies to Samsung’s own chargers.
The only similarity between reports is that all the chargers that don’t work on the S8 worked perfectly fine on the Galaxy S7. We’re not sure what’s going on, but hopefully it’s a software issue rather than a hardware one.
