Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 announced with S Pen and four speakers

Samsung has officially announced a brand new Android product at Mobile World Congress. As expected, it’s a brand new tablet.

Officially known as the Galaxy Tab S3, Samsung unveiled the device today, showcasing a new flagship device with a large 9.7-inch display and all the bells and whistles potential buyers would come to expect.

As far as the specs go, that 9.7-inch display supports High Dynamic Range (HDR), and it’s a Super AMOLED panel with 2048×1536 resolution. Under the hood, there’s a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor and 4GB of RAM. It offers 32GB of built-in storage, but the Galaxy Tab S3 also offers a microSD card slot for expandable storage.

There’s a 13-megapixel camera with autofocus and a flash on the back, and on the front there’s a 5-megapixel shooter for selfies. A USB Type-C port is on the bottom, it’s running Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box, and the battery measures in at 6000mAh. Fast charging support is in there, too.

The new Galaxy Tab S3 also comes with a “refined” S Pen, which is a bit thicker than previous generations to help with handling on the larger tablet display. The tip of the pen has been reduced to only 0.7mm, and it has increased pressure sensitivity. The S Pen will also support the ability to take notes on the tablet’s display while it’s off, PDF annotation, and more.

Unfortunately, while the tablet has been revealed, a release date and pricing have not. Hopefully Samsung announces those particular details soon.

What do you think of the Galaxy Tab S3?
