It doesn’t matter where you are going, the important thing is to be there on time. That’s a creed Google probably adheres too, as well. Today, the search giant pushed an update to its Google Maps app which promises to help you get you to your desired location in the most efficient manner possible.
Now when you swipe up from within the app, you’ll be greeted by three new tabs: Place, Driving and Transit.
The first one will showcase categories of restaurants and bars labeled as “best dinners”, “cheap eats” or “business dining” to help you find the perfect launch or dinner location in your vicinity or around an alternate address. Users can also easily find a grocery store, gas station, hotel, pharmacy or bank by tapping on the search bar and then on the relevant icon.
Provided you have your home and work address saved, the Driving tab will deliver updates related to real-time transit times to and from your locations of interest. On top of that, you’ll be getting nearby traffic condition reports and expect delays status updates.
Last but not least, for those who take the bus instead, Google Maps’ Transit tab is here to provide commuters with bus/train timetables, as well as ETAs for when you should be arriving at home or work. Nearby transit station info is also provided.
The Google Maps update is currently live for Android users.
