Samsung Galaxy S8 Images Leak, Shows Rear Fingerprint Sensor and More

Serial leakster @evleaks recently posted what appears to be the first live image of the upcoming Galaxy S8 monster, alongside additional information related to the device.

The report confirms a bunch of information we already knew and reinforces some of the older rumours too. So the Galaxy S8 will arrive in 5.8-inch and 6.2-inch variants – both with QHD resolution (2560 x 1440 pixels).

Processing power will come either from the Snapdragon 835 or a high-end Samsung Exynos SoC (depending on market). We already know Samsung has reserved the initial Snapdragon 835 batch for its Galaxy S8, thus dooming other flagship like the LG G6 to make-do with an older-gen silicone piece.

We’re told the phones will feature a 12MP main camera with f/1.7 and an 8MP selfie shooter. It also looks like the base Galaxy S8 variant will ship out with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage (microSD included).

Samsung will include a couple of pretty flimsy batteries, a 3,000 mAh one for the 5.8-inch model and a 3,500 mAh for the 6.2-inch version – which isn’t exactly encouraging. Last but not least, the current report confirms the presence of a 3.5mm headphone jack (also visible in the image), USB Type-C connector and water resistance feature.

It appears that the Galaxy S8 will launch on March 29 and will later become available around April 21.

Previous rumours would have us believe, the Galaxy S8 will have an iris scanner ala Galaxy Note7, a virtual assistant dubbed Bixby and a Continuum-like dock that will enable users to turn the flagship into a desktop computer.
