Verizon has launched a brand new Anroid tablet with a focus on providing an ideal experience for kids.
It’s called the GizmoTab, and it’s available from both Verizon’s online store and as well as its physical stores. It retails for $249.99, but customers can pick one up for $79.99 with a two-year agreement, or $0 down followed by $10.41 per month for 24 months.
Buyers will get an 8-inch display with a resolution of 1920×1200, an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor, and 3GB of RAM. There’s 16GB of built-in storage and a microSD card slot, and GizmoTab’s battery is measured in at 5100mAh. The GizmoTab also features an 8MP camera on the back and a 5MP front-facing camera. It’s running Android 6.0.1 out of the box.
The tablet features up to 300 premium educational apps, and there’s also a “Parent Dashboard” which will allow parents to monitor their kids’ usage with the tablet, see progress in some apps, and even choose which apps are available to be used at all. The dashboard will also allow parents to control passwords and accounts.
Verizon is including a special deal for GizmoTab buyers, giving them a free Toys R Us, Barnes & Noble, or The Gap gift card with purchase. Families that buy the GizmoTab and also buy the GizmoGadget or GizmoPal 2 will earn a $100 gift card.
