HTC rumored to announce One A9s at IFA 2016

HTC made the One A9 official in October of last year, and while the company made waves recently when it confirmed the One A9 wouldn’t be updated to the newest version of Android within 15 days of Nexus handsets, that’s not stopping HTC from prepping a successor.

According to VentureBeat, HTC plans on calling the new device the “One A9s” which, as noted in the original report, seems to emulate Apple’s naming scheme as much as the One A9 seems to emulate the design of the iPhone 6. Of course, this is all speculation at this point since the device isn’t official, so anything could change between now and when the One A9′s successor is announced.

Today’s report goes on to claim that the One A9s will boast a near-identical design to its predecessor, with the exception of changes to the placement of the camera and flash on the back. The new device will apparently come in black, a bluish-silver, white, and gold color options.

HTC will allegedly unveil the One A9s on September 1, so we don’t have long to wait to see how the A9s compares to its predecessor and the competition.

Did you buy a One A9? Would you consider upgrading to the One A9s?
