Reports recently surfaced that claimed Samsung would be skipping the Galaxy Note 6 name this year, and instead jump ahead to Galaxy Note 7. Since then we’ve heard the device could be unveiled in early August and that it could boast an iris scanner. Now what’s believed to be the front panel for the upcoming Galaxy Note 7 has leaked, seemingly confirming not only with the handset feature an iris scanner for added security, but that it will indeed offer a dual-edge display measuring in at 5.8 inches.
The image shows that there are a few more cutouts on the front, above the display area, that aren’t present on Samsung’s Galaxy S7 edge. That’s where many expect Samsung to include the iris scanner on the upcoming phablet flagship. If the rumors are true, the Galaxy Note 7 will be the one of the first Android smartphones featuring iris scanner security tech, and it’s likely that it will reach other Samsung-branded devices in the future.
