When Google hosted its keynote for Google I/O 2016, the company said that it still hadn’t settled on a new name for Android N, the version of the platform that’s set to launch to the public later this year. As a result, Google reached out to the Android fans out there to try and help figure it out. The Developer Preview for Android N teased us well enough, giving us Android “Namey McNameface,” but we also knew that the official name would soon be unveiled.
And sure enough, here we are.
Android N is now Android Nougat.
