For those that don’t know, Samsung is rumoured to jump straight to the Galaxy Note 7 naming scheme as a way to be consistent with its other flagship lineup like the Galaxy S7. However a new leak suggests the company just might release two versions of the Note this year.
According to the Indian import/export site Zauba, a listing featuring a Samsung model number (SM-N935G) appeared on May 26th. The reason why it was listed is not clear as a “metal mask for a mobile phone production line” could really mean anything. The real importance here is the model number itself as GSMArena suggests it could refer to a potential Edge variant of the Galaxy Note 7.
The reasoning for that is the Galaxy S7 has the model number SM-G930 and the S7 Edge is SM-G935. The model number for the Galaxy Note always starts with an N which is evident by the model number of last year’s Note 5: SM-N920. So by taking this into consideration, the model number SM-N935G could very well be the Note 7 Edge.
We’ll have to see if this theory holds since rumours start to get more and more concrete as the days go by.
