In 2016, it’s all about the USB Type-C. The majority of smartphone manufacturers have been adopting the new reversible port and it’s just a matter of time before it becomes the standard for all plugs. Early on, however, purchasing additional cables has been a little bit dicey. Some cables were not meeting standards and had the potential to actually fry your device!
Well you can now shop with a little bit more peace of mind as one of the biggest marketplaces in the world has stepped up to protect us. Amazon has now added non-compliant USB Type-C’s to their prohibited listing list. Up till now we’ve had to rely on one Benson Leung to test out cables for us and while I still advise checking to see if Benson has reviewed a cable before buying, those non-compliant cables should fade away soon enough.
Well done Amazon, well done.
