With new smartphones releasing each year, Optus is now jumping on the bandwagon to offer customers 12 month upgrades, and the telco’s latest plans do away with cancellation fees.
Optus’ latest generation of My Plan Plus plans will come standard with the ability to take advantage of the ‘New Phone Trade Up’ program — as Optus calls it — which will enable customers to upgrade their handset 12 months into their 24 month plan to a new 24 month plan with the latest handset for $99. This program works similar to Telstra’s New Phone Feeling plans whereby customers are able to upgrade to a new 24 month plan when 12 months into their current plan for $149.
