Sprint is the latest carrier to launch a rollover data-style feature.
Starting today, Monthly Rolling Data is available with Sprint Prepaid plans at Best Buy. As the feature’s name suggests, it lets you roll your unused data from one month into the next. Sprint says that users can carry up to 30GB of rolling data at once and that the data has no expiration. However, the carrier notes that anyone that activated a Sprint Prepaid plan at Best Buy before May 31 won’t automatically gain Rolling Data. Those customers must actively migrate to a new Rolling Data plan.
Rolling Data is compatible with all three of Sprint Prepaid’s rate plans, all of which also include unlimited talk and text. The base $35 plan includes 1GB of Rolling Data, the $45 plan offers 3GB of Rolling Data, and the top-end $55 plan includes 6GB of Rolling Data.
In addition to Rolling Data, Sprint has announced a promo that’ll help prepaid customers move to a postpaid plan. After completing nine on-time payments on a Sprint Prepaid plan, customers will be able to bring their device into a Best Buy and be pre-qualified for a Sprint postpaid smartphone lease. Like the Rolling Data plans, this prepaid-to-postpaid offer is only available at Best Buy.
