Got an Xperia Z device? If so, you’ll soon have Android 5.1 too.
Sony has revealed that it plans to push Android 5.1 updates to its Xperia Z line of products, including smartphones ranging from the OG Xperia Z to the Xperia Z3. Sony tells us to expect that rollout to begin in July, alongside Android 5.1 updates for the Xperia T2 Ultra and Xperia C3. Shortly after that, Android 5.1 is expected to begin rolling to the Xperia M2 and Xperia M2 Aqua.
With Android 5.1 starting to roll out to other devices in recent months, we’re sure that many Sony Xperia owners were wondering when they’d get a taste of the latest version of Lollipop. Thankfully, the rollout will begin soon, and it’s even going to hit older devices like the Xperia Z, which is more than two years old at this point.
As with all software updates, the exact rollout of Sony’s Android 5.1 updates will vary by market and device. We’ll be sure to let you know when Sony shares more details of its Android 5.1 schedule.
