Android Distribution Numbers Out For June, Lollipop Now At 10%

android_dist_june

It’s now June and Google has updated their Android Distribution numbers accordingly. For those unfamiliar with this monthly phenomenon, these numbers are updated by Google at roughly the start of every month for developers to look at so they can generalize what version of Android their potential install base is running and act upon it.

As of today June 1st, Google’s latest stable Android release, Android 5.1, has increased by a mere 0.1% while Lollipop as a whole increased to 12.4%. Android M obviously is way to insignificant to make an appearance in the distribution chart which is why it’s not here. As for KitKat, it has decreased by 0.6% to 39.2% and Jelly Bean as a whole has decreased by almost 2%. ICS and Gingerbread continue their slow death while Froyo remains unchanged at 0.3%.
