The Motorola DROID Turbo was officially unveiled on October 28,and went up for sale shortly thereafter. For Verizon employees who might have wanted to pick up the newest DROID-branded smartphone, waiting may have been worth it, as a new “Employee Edition” of the handset has landed on Verizon’s website.
This particular variant of the DROID Turbo isn’t all that different from the original. There’s “Limited Edition” branding with a serial number near the camera, and the back looks to be a smooth kevlar option. And that’s where the differences end.
The Employee Edition DROID Turbo still features a 5.2-inch QHD display, with a 21-megapixel camera on the back. There is the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor under the hood, with 3GB of RAM and a battery measured in at 3900mAh. The pricing for the Employee Edition are also different, with the two-year contract price set at $99, and a $499 price tag sans contract.
