Amazon is ready to release its own smartphone and BGR got their hands on a leaked image of what this Android-based device is going to look like. Check it out below:

The image above is the first to reveal the design of Amazon’s debut smartphone. Multiple trusted sources have verified the authenticity of the image, which was created for internal use by graphic designers at Amazon.

As can be seen in this new image published exclusively by BGR, Amazon’s phone will feature an overall look that is similar to many full touch smartphones currently on the market. In fact, it appears to take design cues from several existing smartphones including Apple’s iPhone, Samsung’s Galaxy S lineup and even the HTC One, which has a polished, chamfered bezel much like the one seen on Amazon’s phone.

As you can see it looks like a hybrid smartphone which kind of looks like an iPhone with its chamfered edges but its curved design reminds us of the Galaxy S line up. Amazon already runs a forked version of Android on its Kindle Fire tablets, so it would make sense for them to power their smartphone this way as well.

As for specs, BGR’s sources say it will have a 4.7-inch 720P HD display, a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU, 2GB of RAM, and six individual camera modules for some sort of 3D interface.

If Amazon borrows its pricing methodology from its Kindle line up, we could see an affordable smartphone where the company again makes money when users buy their services, versus profits off hardware sales. That’s what CEO Jeff Bezos preached with their Kindle Fire line up previously—let’s hope that tradition continues!
