If, like me, you find default Android homescreens a little boring, and you’re constantly switch between new wallpapers and widgets, then Themer might be the app you’ve been waiting for. Themer, which is now in open beta, offers up a huge library of themes, completely altering your handset’s appearance at the touch of a button. You may recall that we had a closer look at the app a few months ago.
I’m a long time Nova Prime user, and although the launchers work very differently, I have to say that it’s amazing how much variety Themer’s library offers compared with anything else I’ve tried on the market. It’s a real rival to ROM integrated theme options like Theme Chooser, but in the form of an app that everyone can use.
The latest update addresses several stability issues affecting a few devices, and there are now hundreds, if not thousands, of different themes available for download, all for free.
However, being in beta means that there are still a few remaining issues to sort out. From my experiences, Themer seems to have problems with my multiple email accounts, and transitioning to apps and other homescreen pages can seem sluggish compared with other launchers on the market, but that could just be down to my aging handset.
If you haven’t seen some of the truly unique themes available with Themer I suggest you check out the video below.
Although the app is still currently in beta testing it’s listed on the Google Play Store for everyone to download. If you test it out feel free to share your favourite themes with us.
