European roll-out of HTC One Android 4.4.2 begins

The HTC One Android 4.4.2 update is now being pushed out to to SFR customers in France. The update is arriving 10 days before HTC’s self-imposed Android 4.4.2 release timeline was set to expire at the end of this month. We expect HTC and other European service providers to start pushing the Android 4.4.2 update to carrier-branded and unlocked versions of the HTC One within the next few days.

The Android 4.4.2 update for carrier-branded HTC One handsets in the US is expected by the end of this month, but HTC’s Android update page still shows the devices in the Integration phase. It’s hard to know if HTC will be able to finish Integration and carrier Certification within the next 10 days. HTC has been very vocal about the HTC One’s Android 4.4 update timeline, so we’d hate to see them slip up this close to the end.

Do you think HTC will hit its deadline and release the HTC One Android 4.4.2 update to all carrier-branded versions of the phone before the end of January?
