5 Android apps you shouldn’t miss this week! [Google Play Weekly]

The holidays are over, CES is over, and everything is starting to get back to normal. That doesn’t mean there weren’t a lot of awesome things happening in the world of applications. To start, Google Play Services got an update to version 4.1 that brings a lot of new features including better battery life. Nuance, the company behind Swype, brought their trademark keyboard and a virtual assistant to smart watches and that’s actually good for smart watches. Speaking of keyboards, Swiftkey continues their roll with a new update that adds better emojis and a number row along with some bug fixes. CyanogenMod released GalleryNext beta to the Google Play Store. To get it, follow this link, join the beta community, and then you can download the app from the Google Play Store. Eternity Warriors 3

[Price: Free]

First up this week is a recommendation straight from le Goog called Eternity Warriors 3. Like the two that preceded it, the third installment is an action RPG where you play as one of three heroes to battle a corrupted dragon that’s threatening your kingdom. It’s gaining popularity quickly and features multiplayer support along with decent graphics.

Sliding Explorer

You can never have too many options for file managers and Sliding Explorer is a new one that looks pretty nice. It adheres to most of the standard Android design elements and while it doesn’t look as complex as ES or have as many features as X-plore, it’s a solid offering for those who just need to take a peek at their files sometimes.

Talon for Twitter

If you’re itching for a new Twitter client or you’ve been shut out of Carbon and Falcon thanks to Twitters stupid token limit policy, we recommend you give Talon a shot. It has a sleek design, some decent features, and more. We did a review of this app which you can find here.

Udemy

Udemy is a brand new application that allows you to take educational courses in a large variety of subjects. I’ve always had a soft spot for responsibly done education apps and this one has a lot of features and options for people looking to extend their knowledge. Keep an eye out because we will be reviewing this one in the coming days.

Zedge

[Price: Free]

Our last trending app this week is the venerable Zedge. Zedge received a pretty decent update that brings back the ability to save and store favorites within the app and also adds sorting in My Downloads and My Favorites. In addition, there are the standard bug fixes and performance improvements. This should fix most problems people were having with the app’s new design.
