It’s Black Friday and that means U.S. customers can find sales on just about anything under the sun, both in-store and via the web. Not wanting to be left out, Nvidia has joined the Black Friday madness by slashing down the Nvidia Shield to just $249.99 ($50 off). If that’s not enough value for you, Nvidia is also including a free carrying case, free shipping and two games: Sonic 4 Episode II THD and Expendable: Rearmed.

Although the deal is meant for Black Friday, the promo actually runs through the weekend and into Cyber Monday, with the offer expiring at 11:59 PST on December 2nd, 2013. It’s worth noting that Nvidia isn’t the only one offering the Shield for sale, though it’s promotion appears to be the best one out there.

Is the Shield worth picking up? It really depends on what you’re looking for. The idea of a portable Android gaming system with built-in physical controllers isn’t for everyone, but $250 is certainly a steal if you’re into the idea.

For those wondering what kind of “meat” the Shield brings to the table, the gaming device is powered by an Nvidia Tegra 4 CPU with 2GB of RAM. Other specs include a USB port, HDMI output, microSD slot, and a battery rated for about 5 to 10 hours of gaming, or as many as 24 hours of HD video playback. For PC gamers, the Shield also has the added value of offering PC game streaming.

What do you think, anyone planning on picking up the Nvidia Shield this weekend?
