Motorola’s on fire, rolling 4.4 out to T-Mobile Moto X

Motorola has been pushing out updates like crazy, putting Google itself to shame. While the Nexus 4 is still waiting for its 4.4 update, and many Nexus owners in general waiting forever for the update to roll out to them (my damn Nexus 7 2012 I/O is still not updated), Motorola is handing out KitKats like its candy. The Verizon model came first, and the AT&T model is getting a soak test, and now T-Mobile is getting the full update.

This new update includes all the goodies of Android 4.4 you are probably familiar with. The transparent navigation and status bars won’t be anything new to Moto X users, but the new dialer, focus and exposure control in the camera, and the ability to say “OK Google Now, find my phone” is pretty awesome.

It’s pretty incredible how quick Motorola has been with the updates, especially considering Google’s subpar updating of the Nexus line. If you’re the owner of a Moto X on T-Mobile, go ahead and check for updates in settings, but don’t be mashing that button. Tell us if you get it and what cool stuff you find in it!
